ABOUT GUY

Guy LaBoa is a creative executive with achievement in leadership and management. He has a particular talent in organizational turn around; operations, planning and training; coaching, teaching and development of Team Members. He has worked for complex organizations to accomplish unique and difficult projects.

Guy’s experience as a city council member in Lumpkin County has provided opportunities in achieving solutions to complex issues, detailed budget planning, contract negotiations and consensus team building to accomplish difficult tasks within the city, and our county government.

Guy has within the last six years served on the Northeast Regional Boy Scouts Executive Committee, the Chestatee Regional Hospital Board, and Board of Directors of the Dahlonega Rotary Club. He is currently a member of the Sunrise Rotary in Dahlonega and the Chamber of Commerce.

Guy’s focus in leading business operations is to model the way for his associates by earning their respect, setting clear goals and leading by direct involvement and action. His experience has taught him to develop a shared vision among his associates. His style is to step out and challenge the status quo, seek new innovative ways to accomplish the task and provide the power and authority for associates to act.

Guy wants to improve the quality of life for all our Lumpkin residents by increasing Lumpkin County’s attractiveness to new and relocating companies to gain jobs. We need to continue to boost Lumpkin County “Tourism” and make it the destination of choice for visitors. To achieve this and other objectives we must establish a shared “Lumpkin County Vision for Economic Development” among the leadership teams of the County government and its entities, the NGCSU, the City of Dahlonega, the Chamber of Commerce and the Lumpkin County Schools system.
